Want to Buy Combi Propshaft/Shaft Log

I am using an O-22
Combi for a non-Vega project. I either need to locate a prop shaft (mine
was sawn in half to remove it from the boat) or sell the whole engine
& start over. At this point I am neutral as to which, having had no
luck with the propshaft.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in
advance.

(If you have a shaft
for sale, would also be interested in the shaft-log and stern bearing
also...)

Gary,

Can't help with the shaft but if you should get to
the point of selling the O22 I would be interested.

Check with the Vega Association of Great Britain. They manufacture
new shafts and may have the bearings also. Their url is "www.firstnet.u-net.com/"
Hope this helps. If you decide to sell the 0-22, I would be interested
in buying it. Aloha Doug Lupton

Hi Gary,I live on Marth's Vineyard in Massachusetts and will we taking out the combi and the 022 engine to replace with and outboard engine.I'm probably going to make an extension of the aft part of the boat to accomodate the outboard .If you want the combi and engine for free come on out and help me take it out and its yours.I'll put you up for the time it takes to take it out.

James, I'm interested in your 0-22 and combi, however I live in Hawaii.
I shipped an 0-21 to Miami recently and the freight is about $350.00.
I'll buy your 0-22, however I can't travel to Martha's Vineyard to help
in the extraction. Any suggestions? Aloha Doug

James,

I've been looking for a parts or running gas
engine.  I don't have to have the the shaft / combi. that Brian is
looking for and I believe that Gary has got his prop shaft etc..  One
part I need is a distributer. Another is a carburator I think that my
O21 dist. is the same as the O22.

I live in Maine and have relatives in Falmouth Mass.
Matter of fact my wife is heading down there to visit her parents for several
days this Monday. I have some time off next week and was planning to stay around
here, uncover the boat and get started on sping Vega projects but I could get
down sometime during the week or weekend.

Re: [AlbinVega] Want to Buy Combi Propshaft/Shaft Log

Hi Gary,Sorry for not returning any messages but I've been on vacation to a lovely island in the Grenadines called Bequia. I'm going to start yanking out the engine and combi next week (May 5th or so )and would appreciate the help but I fear you may live too far away plus renting a car is prohibative.I think the engine is an 021 (I'll check tomorrow). Now I must qualify the status of the engine and the combi as to their shape.the engine did have water in the oil but I beleive it was due to some incredible sailing conditions I was in and it got in via the exhuast,.the combi works fine. For now I'm whacking out the old seacocks for the head to put in new ones and next week its the engine. If I don't get a response to help with the engine I will save the control cables to whoever emailed me last week.

Morton,Thanks for the ihe info especially info concerning the HP required to push the Vega. Its not an old British seagull is it? I'm probably going to put a brackect on and mount a honda 9-15 hp motor this year but because of my experience with fiberglass constuction I'm going add a european type scoop stern so an outboard motor can be mounted and tipped up when not in use, built is fuel tank plus swim step.
