Greetings! I am in mid-project and have read in many posting about folks using local fabricators to reproduce the two SS/Bronze sheave boxes that make up the mechanics of the system on the Wanderer and I think on several other models as well. I even found a post that mentioned a machine shop in NE that did the original boxes....but going back, I cannot seem to locate that post. I am on Long Island and I know NYSail (I have a note out to you) has a local source but open to other directions as well. I am taking some good photos of this process and will follow on with some detail, I actually brought back the "in-hull" box to life with a little Hydrochloric acid which freed up that sheave quite well....tested first on the bronze sheave that I ground out of the aft unit....
Ah well....please provide any direction regarding fabricators, machine shops, that may help here.
Thanks! Wanderer #152 ROAM
