I am in the process of renovating the quarter berth. I have bought some vinyl off white material and am wondering - How do I apply it to the wall? Spray glue, adhesive, contact cement? Any ideas? The previous moldy fabric and foam are gone and the wall is ready for action.

What I did in my Veeberth was to make

cushions of carpet padding and polyester fabric. This is fastened to the hull with velcro. If it gets funky I can pull it out and run it in the laundry. But the extra form helps to reduce the shock of backing my warm butt into a cold hull. I just painted the hull after is was sanded smooth.

That's the brand of spray on contact adhesive I use for auto, train, boat, and RV interiors when I was in the business, and still do on my boat and RV. Economical, holds fast forever evenin high heat conditions.

How do you apply the adhesive? Spray the whole wall? Spray the liner backing? Spray both wall and backing? Or spray the wall a little at a time? I know spray 77 is noxious so I shoulld vent the area and wear a respirator. How much work time do I have with the spray - 5 min?

Wall Coverings

I have replaced the interior wall coverings in my Hunter. The origenal was a carpeting. I removed it and installed a off white vinyl wall covering. I use a vinyl adhesive floor paste made by armstrong flooring. It worked well. I was able to move the vinyl into possition and did not have to spray. Three years and no problems.
