Walking UP to the floats

We had sustained winds reported from 35-42 knots last night with gusts up to 53 so I decided to check on Shibumi today (she's fine). We had a pretty high tide this morning predicted at nine feet and pushed significantly higher in places by the wind. The road I usually take to the marina was covered with two feet of salt water and choked with logs. When I got to the marina after a detour, I found I actually had to walk UP about 18 inches from the fixed dock to the floats--a very weird sensation and a first for me. Tonight's low tide is a minus 2.3 foot prediction with winds forecasted at 30-40 knots again and another low after that with some "serious" pressure gradients. Ah, winter. Texas winter sailing

On Lake Texoma the forecast is for sunshine, high of 65 and West-Northwesterly winds around 8-10 knots. We WILL be aboard Jenny-Anne! I really like the way this winter is going so far! Fair winds, Wulfe s/v Jenny-Anne
