We had sustained winds reported from 35-42 knots last night with gusts up to 53 so I decided to check on Shibumi today (she's fine). We had a pretty high tide this morning predicted at nine feet and pushed significantly higher in places by the wind. The road I usually take to the marina was covered with two feet of salt water and choked with logs. When I got to the marina after a detour, I found I actually had to walk UP about 18 inches from the fixed dock to the floats--a very weird sensation and a first for me.Tonight's low tide is a minus 2.3 foot prediction with winds forecasted at 30-40 knots again and another low after that with some "serious" pressure gradients. Ah, winter.Gary WyngardenS/V Shibumi H335
