Anyone have experience with the kit that adds tiubes to a Walker Bay dinghy? I want to know what you all think...

Put them on last weekend

I installed them on my 8' Walker Bay last weekend. As far as the installation went with an older model - very easy! 16 holes to drill, no special tools, and the tubes slid on with some dishwashing soap. Looks great. I got the 4 chamber model - 275R from West Marine who matched the online price I found on the attached link. I'll be trying them out this weekend and I'll let you know how they float if nobody else has any response for you.

tested

Well, the weather wasn't all that great for dinking around, but I did get the Walker Bay in the water. It seamed much more stable and I'm pleased with it. Sitting on the stern seat still puts the bow up in the air, so I don't see much improvement there - would still need to sit in the center bench with one person. I'm 200lbs, and I could not stand on the side like the picture depicts, but again, much improved anti-tipping. It's much easier to get in and out of. Had a nice romantic row around the river last night in it. The downside to it for me is that it's much wider now and won't roll on its little wheel down the pier between the pilings. A friend has dingy dogs on his dink an he much prefers the Walker Bay RID tubes to his. The dogs are about $450.
