Hello, Has anyone had an experience with the new Rigid Inflatable Dinghys from Walker Bay?/ The look sporty and serviceable, but expensive. I'm looking for the perfect dinght for towing behind a Catalina 27 in the Ches Bay. thanks Brian

Had the original

We bought and then got rid of the "plain" Walker Bay 8-foot dinghy because it was too unstable. We were scared to death of falling out of the thing. This appears to be exactly the same boat with an inflated "inner tube" attached around the outside of the gunwale, in hopes of solving the lateral stability problem. For me, the only appeal of the WB was the fact that it was inexpensive, less than half the cost of an inflatable of similar capacity. If the WB RIB's cost is nearly the same as the similar-sized Zodiac, I wouldn't bother taking a chance on it. Paul sv Escape Artist h336

dink

I had gotten a porta boat last year. It is working out great. 2.5 hp will get it up on plan. But only if I sit in the middle of it. It folds up and stores on deck or toes with very litte drag. The only thing I don,t like is the sets are black and get HOT!

Walker Bay dink

I had one of the origninal dinks, but took it back to West Marine 'cause it sailed like a dishpan.
