That should be an easy repair, and it would be a good time to check the impeller.
I don’t have your engine, but these may help.
1) close the thru hull for the cooling water
2) remove the 4 screws and remove the cover
3) remove the impeller and inspect for wear, broken or cracked veins, etc. if you don’t know when it was last replaced, I would
replace it and write the date in a maintenance log. Putting some dish soap on the impeller can help get it back into the housing.
4) many of these pumps use a paper gasket on the cover. Others may have an o-ring.
5) if it is paper, clean the old one off, being careful not to scratch the housing surface. I like to put a little Superlube on the new gasket to help it stick in place. Inspect the cover plate for wear and make sure it is clean. Put it over the gasket and replace the screws.
6) if it has an o-ring ( I think usually on the cover), inspect for wear, nicks, etc. if it looks suspect, replace it. Again, I like a little Superlube on the oring.
if the pump is leaking from a weep hole, that is an indication of a bad seal that will require the pump be rebuilt or replaced.
