I think I'm in huge trouble. My transmission on my 18hp Volvo Penta is stuck in reverse. When someone attempted to fix it, water and flakes of metal were found in the transmission. Does anyone know what I'm going to have to do or how much money I'll have to spend? Also, if anyone has a transmission for sale let me know because I may have to replace it. Checking from Volvo now.

Might have a transmission off an old Voelbel that I replaced with r I'll check and send you the model numbers

engine is MD2B 25 HP transmission is MS (mono-shift) prop shaft flange for 25 mm prop shaft 1.91:1 left hand rotation. this 1976 vintage stuff.........
