Ok - So I have replaced the hot water heater in my boat......

I lost some engine coolant in the process (not a lot) - and have connected the new Force 10 - 6 gallon heater to the eingine.

What next ?

Do any of you Volvo Penta 2002 folks have any gotchas ???

Do I just start it up and add coolant to the resrvoir ? How do I avoid an airlock ?

If it was my car, I would just open the rad cap and add coolant, and keep the cap open to let any air bubble out.

however - on the boat - there IS NO rad cap- - just a plastic resevoir tank....

What do I need to do next ? Just top it off into the reseviour tank ?

Open the heat exchanger or thermostat ?? ( no idea about how to do this)

Run the engine and just top off the resevoir ??

Any suggestions are appreciated !

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks Ross -

That site requires you to buy a $25 membership to see replies to the forums !!

I don't mind patronizing the owners of sites by buying stuff (like from the Sailboatownwers store for example) - but I felt that 25 just to post a question was a bit rich.

I did however find another excellent forum for Volvo Diesels at:
http://www.marineengine.com/discus/messages/12494/12494.shtml

They have info on various makes - so if anyone wants to save that bookmark, it might come in handy.

The Install went fine BTW - I will post an update on my original water heater thread.

Regards,

Paul
