Well my 2003t has finally given me enough grief to repower. I have made my choice between a Volvo D2-40, Beta Marine 37.5hp and a Yanmar 3JH4E. My choice was the Yanmar based on Dealerships through out the area that I cruise, resale of my Oceanis 390 someday, cost and availability of parts and the yard that I want to use will allow me to do as much of the install that I want and will assist when I need it. They will also let me use their engine jig to install the mounts and set the distance to the prop shaft. The Yanmar was $1700.00 less than the Beta marine. The only thing the other engines had over the Yanmar were 4 cylinders compared to 3 cylinder for the Yanmar. The one problem was the Yanmar is a counter rotating transmission compared to the Volvo with clock wise. Then in talking to Autoprop they want $2500 to change the 3 blades, you have got to be kidding. I will now go to a fixed prop and sell my Autoprop and many new parts for the 2003t to include rebuilt turbo with no hours new fuel pump, new engine mounts ect. My Volvo has blowby that is causing some oil leak problem. The engine starts and runs fine but I do not want to bother with it anymore. I will let you know how the repower goes.
