Voltage regulator

I went to The Van Holland tractor dealer yesterday and bought a voltage regulator for a cub tractor. It will work for the starer generator. IT cost me $78.00and the starter solenoid cost $18.00. I also got the name of a fellow locally who will rebuild the Bosch solenoid/regulator I will go talk to him next week as he is on vacation right now. I plan to take the Bosch solenoid to him for re-manufacturing. I'll let everyone know how it works out. The regulator I bought I am sure is made in China but that's the way it is today. I have to test the starter generator to make sure it is not shorted out because the fuse link which is a single piece of wire on the regulator is burned in half. I am hoping that is because I hand cranked the engine with the ignition turned off. This is easy to do when you don't have to turn the ignition on to get the engine to start with the crank. I have to buy a regulator for the alternator as well.

That's what I thought Brian but there is a regulator mounted right beside the alternator and is wired in. The alternator may be a 1973 Bosh model if there is such a thing, as there is no record in the log of it having been replaced. So I don't know but I will find out tomorrow when I get to the boat.
