How do I repair an on deck pea size void that has cracked open the gelcoat? Also unused screw holes in the deck. Invisible, would be the desired end result.

I would Marine Text it over.

Clean it out real good. Tape off the area goo with Blue Tape. Mix up some Marine Text or other expoxy. Fill the hole with a putty knife. Let it set up a little and then smooth it with a wet finger. Becarefull not to get too much on the tape. It is hard to get the tap off. I would good back and take the tape off before a 24 hour period. Sand off the excess and you are done.

I also use MarineTex

to repair small holes in the gelcoat or to fill old unused screw holes. I have good luck in making these repairs almost invisible by making a small dimple in the hole I've just filled, sometimes with a pencil eraser or whatever fits the hole. Then I fill the dimple with the correct color gelcoat that you buy in a tube for around $6. Very hard to see these repairs.
