After sailing my Vision-32 for almost a year now I am somewhat disapointed in the small jib on the boat. It's OK for most sailing but running is a real pain with the small jib. I am thinking of going with a 110% or 115% instead of the stock 100% but wanted to know if any Vision owner has had any experience in working with these or any other combinations of larger jib's on a Vision series (32 or 36).

Vision 32 head sail

Rob, I agree after 6 yrs sailing my Vision 32 I bought a used cruising spinnaker last year with a sock and find the down wind performance to be excellent. Before that I would often just roll the head sail up when running. I might know were another spinnaker, chute, sheets, tacker can be had at a good price if interested I can provide info. good luck Jim

New jib for Vision 32

I had Ulman sales make me a 115% jib but the problem I had was where to put the lead for the clew rope. The vison has a liner so it is diffacult to attach a pully to the boat. I hooked it on the stanchions but it should be in farther.

Understand, but there is a solution!

Rob, I'm the guy that Rick mentioned. I've had new UK Tape Drive Gold sails (main and 129% jib delivered, gennaker still on order) on by Vision 32' for about 3 weeks and I assure you, new sails will change your perspective. They sure did mine anyway! I as mentioned above, I went with a 129% jib as I too was disapointed in the blade jib that comes with the boat. Not that it wasn't just fine, definitely right from a cruising perspective, but I grew up sailing small day sailers like the 19' Lighting (twas the love of my life when I was 23) back in Michigan and just wanted to have the sensation of speed in Southern Cailfornia's light air that I had then. In short, I've now got a different boat. Still a wonderful crusier but now I'm (working on becoming) the "major racing dude" of Dana Point Yacht Club. Just kidding but you know what I mean. Now I'm quite respectable, and swapping stories like an ole salt. <s> Rodger beard Attitude Adjustment
