I was discussing with another vision owner on email about how to improve the light wind, 4-8 knots, performance on my vision. All with budget in mind. We (Rodger and I) talked about the summers in our area being light and not suited for the vision's 10 oz sails. 4 oz improved his a lot. I'm counting on the vision owners who have been down this road and all others please to add to our discussion. What things below are most important:A spinnaker?A Gennaker?Larger jib and how big?A pole?A pole in combo with what above?what weight?do both sails need to be lighter or just get a ligher jib? do you fly the gennaker with the jib or just one?what is our distance from the headstay straight down?I ask so I can surf the used sails site. any good place for used? can this be done or is there some funky dimension I forgot? I understand the fractional rig can be tricky.folding prop or feathering?BIG qestion: If on a budget what combo of the above would be the best bang for the buck? While were on the topic of light wind. Looking for best prop combo for the buck:I motor at 2900 (should I push it more) at 5 knots on average. get 5.8 at 3200 and thats about it.My goal is closer to 7.when motoring what aftermarket prop has worked best for this boat?]will a feathering or folding really give me that much better light wind speed? Is the stock size really the best option for a traditional two blade on this boat? then could I get a new 2 blade inexpensive prop with more pitch or size and skip all the expensive folding or maxprop feathering garb? I saw a two blade plastic one ,designed for Yanmars, that is suppose to be an improvement, what do you all think? Thanks for reading all the questions,Jeff Hodor
