With a brand spanking new boat, what would be the best method of starting on the right foot... I was going to use the K.O & P.O products, but are there some other things that maybe Hunter does not set up quite that well or just a "break-in" method...

No "break in" required.

Your new toilet came from the factory lubricated, and nothing you can do to in normal use is likely to damage it. However, to fully understand how to maintain the plumbing on your boat, I do suggest you browse through the articles in the Reference Library in the Head Mistress forum. In fact, I just posted a new one that addresses all the possible sources of odors on boats and how to prevent and/or cure 'em.Enjoy your new boat!

Thank you for tips, but I guess was wondering if some re-work would help things down the line. For example, I read in here that you suggested having a fresh water rinse line hooked via the sink or some such thing to help out?

Certainly won't hurt to modify the system...

I didn't suggest it 'cuz most new boat owners are positive that lightning will strike them dead if they even THINK of modifying anything the boat builder designed. I know people who won't even hang a paper towel holder 'cuz it means putting screw holes in a bulkhead and they don't want to "damage" their new boat!But if you want to do it, by all means go ahead and redirect your head sink drain to your toilet intake. You'll be very glad you did...'cuz the Bay is highly "organic"...and intake odor, especially in hot weather, is a problem.
