Hello, Has anyone aligned their Vire 7 inboard lately? If you did, can you tell me how you did it (used dial indicator gauges or feeler gauge or ???). I just pulled my Vire 7 out and rebuilt the gearbox w/new seals and a bearing and installed new points and freeze plugs. The motor is very straight-forward and easy to work on but I've never had experience in alignment of motor to shaft. Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rick Leger - "Tiny Dancer" RLeger@gis.net

Kevin Woody's response to a similar query is about as good an answer as I've seen. Go to the "Props and Drive Trains" forum and look under "drive shaft alignment" and Kevin's response. I've read that the little Vire was a simple, dependable motor. Originally made for Scandanavian fishermen, and easy to maintain. Don
