I just went down to the Florida Keys to buy a used Hobie Tandem Island. I figured while I was down there I would take the time to do an overnight trip.

Looks like a great adventure! Thanks for posting. I too have enjoyed some simple stealth beach camping with my small hobie wave. It has rekindled a passion for smaller more simple craft (and makes my O'Day 23 feel like a yacht). I will probably never own a boat I can't trailer myself.

I've seen a lot of stuff about the 10k islands. I'm not sure exaclty how much I'd enjoy it. I like the beautiful clear waters, and from what I have gathered that's not exactly what the 10k is. Am I wrong?

water is not clear on most of west coast but clean.

white sand beaches and limitless shells are some of the best in the US. then there is the migratory birds fish, and porpoise. and maybe a gator or 2.

I wouldn't consider going in the rainy season. mosquitoes are big and mean.
only Dec thru March.
