Last weekend I took my Montgomery 17 on a shakedown cruise before my trip to the Florida Keys and made a video of my adventure!

Have a look!

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
Nice cruise. Enjoy many more!

I remember my first over-nighter many years ago. For some reason I love doing over-night trips versus day sails.

Pretty cool S&S.

Just reinforces my desire to someday move my boat down to FL for good.
If you do a u tube video of your trip down to the Keys, put the link up.

Be safe!

Thanks!

Overnighters are definately the best!

I plan on have a good bit of videos from my trip to the Keys. I will surely be sharing them here with everyone!

the opportunities you have there are awesome. I dream of the warm water and white sandy beaches..... we dont get that here. it was a great video.
I am very interested in the stove you built. it looks like a rugged setup. thats what I need. is it alcohol or propane?... and does it have storage as well?..... Im not sure how a good quality infra-red style bar-b-que would work as a cooking stove, but it could serve double duty if it would heat a pan of water reasonably well.

Great Video! Sailing Narragansett Bay doesn't allow for much "alone" time on the water. I would love to have the bay to ourselves once and a while. Beautiful views!

Great Video

Great video, thanks for sharing. Question about your tiller tamer. I've not seen one mounted that direction. Does it work better that way?

Thanks again for the comments everyone!

The stove is a regular propane stove with a 1lb bottle mounted under it. The stove just kinda sits down in the box. There is storage in it, I keep my seasonings, spoon fork and knife, cutting board, skillet, small pot for boiling water and small things in it.
It works well but can be improved. I will probably end up making another after I use it for three weeks in the Keys and learn what works best.

I plan on driving down to the Keys and putting in from Marathon and going from there to wherever.

About the tiller tamer, I'm not sure. I didn't install it and have never used another one before. It works pretty well I guess. I still have a bit to learn about sail trim and it sure work better as I learn to balance the boat.

I guess it does it's job well and holds the tiller still lol

Nice video. I also have an ST 1000.... Love it. Don't let ferrous or magnetic material get too close......the flux gate will make it go wild. Check your shroud tensions........look a bit loose.
