Video from this past weekend

After a disappointing race cancellation this past weekend, my friend Tim and I took our boats out into what can only be described as epic conditions. The race was set to be a solo event and it would have been Tim's first overnight, solo sail across Lake Superior. The race was cancelled due to lack of interest (actually, I think there was a broken link on the website sign up page). Nonetheless, we took my boat out Friday evening and sailed until well after dark in winds that ranged between 15-25 knots. The videos posted here are onboard Tim's boat, an Irwin 37 on Saturday. It takes a bit of wind to get her moving but as you can see, we had plenty of it! I'm the one risking life and limb (and Tim's phone) to get the video.

Couple weeks back... beating back to the Marina, t-storm starts to come up, I take a minute to film myself doing 6+ knots (vertical meter is 6 knots exactly). Hull speed is 5.2. Hard to sail, trim, and video all at once.

I love good wind! You guys look great!
