I had trouble finding a good place to store my anchor while cruising on my little sailboat so I ended up building this box to go under the cockpit in the cabin. Since I plan on singlehanding most of the time I will be deploying the anchor from the cockpit so a bow roller wasn't the best choice.

I think this is a good solution for a small sailboat with no dedicated anchor storage space. I plan on singlehanding most of the time so the anchor will be deployed mostly from the cockpit.

Hopefully someone finds this useful.
THanks for watching!

That's really neat, fits in the boat storage area perfectly.

Very good. Have you thought about putting a barrel bolt at the notch cut for the shank and another at the notch where the "loop" sits? The would lock it in the box

I haven't thought of that Andy but it sounds like a good idea.

My thoughts are the only time I would want it locked down in is really bad weather when I am offshore, which will not happen very often because I don't have any offshore trips planned.

If I am coastal cruising I think I'll want that thing ready to go in a seconds notice and having it locked with bolts in a gale might slow me down quite a bit when I'm in trouble.

I'll see how it goes as is and I may add them to it. For now I'll keep a few bungees close by jsut in case.

Thanks for the idea!
