Ahoy from Frosty Canada:
The skinny...
If we spend an extra $50 to buy a Victron BMV 602 over a BMV 600 (on the off chance that we buy a second battery) will the 602 work okay with the one battery that we are using for our current plan?
The Background...
Doing a rewiring of a Sandpiper 565 and battery monitoring is a priority. The little Honda 2hp outboard does not have an alternator. The project got to the point where we bought a $160 Sam's Club Duracell 105 Ah AGM battery (Got someone to thank for that advice) but there could be a second battery in the future. Perhaps we find a need for more amp hours than the 52.5 Ah the 105 Ah battery will safely give up or perhaps we go to an electric start motor.
So....If we spend an extra $50 to buy a Victron BMV 602 over a BMV 600 (on the off chance that we buy a second battery) will the 602 work okay with the one battery that we are using for our current plan?
PS We wil try to keep the cold air from creeping over the boarder if you folks StateSide will stop that warm front from crossing up from Maine and ruining my skiing. Deal?
