At 0959 local time the Clipper Round the World race boat "Victoria", sponsored by the City of Victoria BC. won leg 7 into Victoria BC by a significant margin, 195 miles over Durban, the 2nd place boat. Not only is this great for us as a city but she has also set a unique record. In the five Clipper Round the World races held since 1996, the boats have raced 1.2 million miles. In all of those miles no boat has ever won the race leg into their sponsoring city or country home port. Until today!!! WooHoooo!!! Can you tell I'm proud??? David
