On our return trip from sailing, cleaning the bottom, installing new shaft and strut zincs we encountered a vibration. Thinking that it was the zinc I installed I removed it. Still have vibration. To my knowledge I have not hit anything. The shaft and prop are clean. I have no vibration from at the engine its all on the shaft when in gear with an rpm of 10,000. Thanks for any help.

Check your shaft alignment.
You have changed a key component (shaft/zinc) that could have a bearing on that function. Also, you probably mean 1000 rpm.

First thing to do .....
Is validate the engine alignment. Even with a 'drive-saver', etc. if the engine alignment is not correct that misalignment 'may' so sideways load the prop shaft so that it 'whips' at above or near its 'natural frequency' (rpm) of vibrations. Sometimes the physical location of the zinc along a shaft is enough to change the 'natural frequency of vibrations' of the shaft .... did you replace the exact same WEIGHT zinc and put it in the EXACT same place as the previous zinc?????? If checking the engine alignment (and it proves to be correct) doesnt point you closer to the problem then you probably have a bent shaft or an out of balance prop. Check the engine alignment first.
