There.is always a natural harmonic vibration in certain rpm ranges. Its a bit like a car with a wheel out of balance. It becomes noticeable particularly at certain speeds. On the boat it could be as simple as a two bladed prop interacting with a two cylinder engine for example. Other culprits are a worn cutlass bearing, crud on the prop, throwing it out of balance, a slightly bent prop shaft , a bent propeller blade, loose motor mount, or none of the above. Some are simple fixes, some are not, and some vibration will never go away completely. I have a similar vibration on my boat that seems to be at its worst around 2500 engine rpm. Still haven't eliminated it.I may spend the money for a flexible coupling between transmission and prop shaft next.
