VHF transmission interference

My 1982 Alder Barbour Cold Machine is causing interference while transmitting on VHF. Reception is OK though. I have been suggested to twist the cold machine wiring to resolve the problem. Will this help and is there any other suggestion out there?Thanks all.

RF interference

Bert; If your refridgeration has an electronic controller, that may be the cause. Certain foreign made components emit too much energy and can cause interference. I read an article that said some technicians have encased the controller in copper screen and gone to shielded cable for the radio. It helped, but was not 100 per cent effective.

Bert,VHF RFI caused by older modules can be cured by wiring directly to the batteries or switch. Larry is refering to a possible cure for RFI caused by the newer digital controls. Even if your module was replaced at some point, it is not a digital.
