Has anyone installed a VHF radio running the coax cabling from the mast compression post at the dining table to the electrical panel on a Hunter Edge 27? Any input would be helpful.

What specifically are you trying to do? I see (did a search) that the Hunter 27e is like the Mac 26() in that it is a power sailor type boat. A sail boat that can ride the bow wave given enough umph with its outboard.
With that in mind, the mast appears to be on a tabernacle and can be raised/lowered. I would think that you would run cable from the mast base to the top and another run from the tabernacle to the radio. Use either a barrel connector between the two, or make one connector a jack (female) and the other a plug (male). This way you can make and break connections as needed.

Getting the cable down the mast to the inside of the boat at it's base is a snap. Getting the cable from the base of the mast (inside the boat) another 15 (+ / -) feet without damaging the integrity of the ceiling material is the challange.
The manufacture tells me you have to pull the head liner off to do it, not much help there. I have not found any small wires or trail where one can feed wires through. I'll check the manual to see if there is anything to look for. Thanks for your input.
Then one other option. Is there a 12v wire running from the panel to the mast step for lights?
If yes, disconnect the wire from the panel and very securely attach a thin line to it. Then gently pull the 12v wire from the mast side, until the end emerges with the line attached. You now have a mouse line.
You can then attach the coax cable to the wire, and gently pull it back to the panel with the line.
If you want to take a few extra minutes, first pull the wire back, with just an extra line attached. That way your 12v wire is back first. And with the thicker wire out of the way, it can help the coax if the run is tight. With the two lines, you can then leave one in place for your next project.
Thanks, good tip! I'll give it a try and let you know of the success, the manufacture got back to me saying the headliner can be moved side ways and pulled down to get into the space. Between you and them I hope to get the wire pulled. For sure if I get the headliner down I'll place a small tube or "mouse" trail for the future!
Jackdaw has a good suggestion. I would take it a little bit further by adding a loop of, what I would call, snake line. Same concept, different name. This way you can just attach the wire/cable and pull it through while at the same time looping the snake. This will always keep the snake in place for future wiring projects.
