Any comments on the now available vertical battens for the H33 roller furling main from owners??

Be sure that you get some kind of guarantee that they will work to your satisfaction before your purchase them. I ordered them for my boat (C309) and found out that they absolutely wouldn't furl into the mast. I returned the sail and am quite happy with the std furling mainsail. I think that they are good in theory, especially for a Hunter which depends on a large mainsail to drive the boat, but I'm not sure that they're worth the potential problems that they could cause when furling the mainsail.

I had what I believe was one of the first 33's with vertical battans. Hull # 327 which is an 06 Hunter 33. I believe that my sail might have been a prototype from somewhere as this was not an option when I got my boat. I asked my dealer if they could find vertical battans and they did. When it was new I had furling problems with the top of the sail. It had nothing to do with the battans. Hunter fixed the top of the sail and since then I never had a problem with the main not furling or unfurling due to the battans. For sure you must make sure that the battans furl in absolutely vertically. I single hand a lot and sometimes in big wind. My sail has not let me down.
