I live in California. My Venture trailer came with tail/brake lights. I just checked with the Department of Motor Vehicles web site then double checked with the local California Highway Patrol office. 1. At night I must have illuminated orange/amber running lights on the front "corners" of the trailer.2. Because of the boat hanging out from the back of the trailer by more than 3', a. During the day I must have a red flag on the rear of the boat. b. At night I have to have brake/taillights on the rear of the boat.As per the Highway Patrol, if I don't have this then I am liable if I get in an accident. Sure seems like the local dealer should know all this.
