Help Help. Is there a drawing or picture of a Venture 24 with the keel down? I recently purchased and transported from Belling ham WA to Vancouver BC a Venture 24 that was on a "questionable" trailer. Yes the inevitale happened and thetrailer broke in half and the boat & trailer ended up in the ditch alongside the Fraser Hiway in Abbotsford. The boat was relatively undamaged but there were chunks of keel ripped off. I have the boat on a high trailer now but have problems in trying to remove, repair, and/or replace the keel. At present the keel only goes down to an angle of about 60 degrees. I think it's supposed to go down to almost 90 degrees. My keel is not plate shaped like some photos I have seen. V24 Keel
The keel on my 24 looks like the one in the website Peter referenced. when I lowered mine at the boatyard it had a piece of driftwood lodged in the trunk. Look and see if the locking bolt is in the top part of the trunk, that would keep it from falling all the way down.
