I went aboard my boat(Scrooge) after it was closed up for 9 days and found mold on my cabin grab rails.This caused me to think about putting in 2 or 4 cowl vents into my boat for increased air circulation. Can anyone tell me if this would signifcantly help reduce air stagnation while the boat is shut up? Or is there a better solution?? I am still a novice at all this keelboat stuff. So any advice would be helpfull.

Hello, I installed a solar powered vent in the main hatch in my boat. The solar cell powers batteries, so it runs 24 hours a day. It was very easy to install and I think it makes a big difference. The vent I used was a Nicro. Barry

or any West Marine or Boat US catalog. Look under ventilation. Basic stuff well explained. One of the easiest ways to learn this stuff is to get a BIG catalog and READ it. WM has all sorts of Advisors. If you're a guy, leave it in the head (at HOME) and read to your hart's content. Stu
