I recently had the exterior of my vintage p26w completely restored I removed carpeting that the previous owner had put on the walls and painted the inside of the cabin with pettit easy poxy. Boat has only 1 dorade vent on the bow,. no other ventilation. Im trying to avoid mildew. What should I do? Add additional ventilation? where? what type? or just leave things alone and wash the cabin down every few weeks with lysol or spic and span

I have six Nicro fico water trapper vents and have installed computer fans powered by a dedicated solar panel in three of them. There is never a mildew problem on our boat.

Nicro day/night in the hatches. Then leave 110VAC fans running while the boat is closed up.

We use a dehumidifier that we run all winter long on our Hunter. It is amazing how much moisture that it removes in a day or two. We purchase a SunpenTown unit. We do not use it while we are aboard. I leave it on our galley sink and use a continous drain so I do not need to worry about the bilt in tank overflowing.

Running fans constantly is equivilamt to leaving the boat completely open. There will be on humidity problems. Consider a wood shed, it is never musty in there.
