The weather here is humid all year and I'm having a problem with mildew inside the boat. I'm thinking about installing a vent or two to keep air moving. Anybody done this on a 270?
I have a 320 that I did it too and the results are far less humidity problems! Still have to wipe down occassionaly with chlorox, but not like before. No more "rain" inside. Used two NICRO vents, one exhaust, one intake. Intake in the "v" birth, exhaust in the center of the saloon. Then run fans in the remote areas.
I have purchased, but not yet installed, a nicro solar vent for the hatch.. I can't bring myself to cut a hole in the lexan.. so far I haven't had too many problems since i originally bought the boat and swabbed it down with bleach.. i have seen the vents installed in the hatch on most 270's.. some over the port saloon bench.i plan to put some of the louvered plexi covers over the rear berth opening ports and perhaps over one of the forward opening ports.. maybe this will give adequate ventilation.. the port covers are available from the port manufacturer.. about 30 bucks each.let me know how you decide to do yours and how it works out.thanks, nate jackson
