Vented Loop for Intake Water

The heads on my Hunter 40 did not come with vented loops on the flushing supply water. It appears that 3/4" hose is needed and I have measured the lengths. The type and OD to fit through the holes in the cabinent are the question. Some marine stores only have heavy duty heater hose which is a larger OD than the holes. Are there some other types and what is recommended. Black to keep out the light and alge appears to be one criteria, what are the others.

Black rubber, and white flex pvc sanitation hose..

...is readily available in 3/4" diameter at most WM, BOAT/US etc stores, and either is acceptable. You do NOT want to use clear hose unless it's specifically rated for below-waterline installations...most potable water hose isn't.
