I'm about replace an MSD porta pottie. The current vent hose is old and barely reached the last time I replaced the head. Unfortunately the head is on the boat so I can't check size. Is 5/8" standard for a vent? What are some examples of acceptable brands/models of vent hose?

Looking at the SaniPottie 970 Series by Dometic they state...
"The MSD models shown here feature a 1-1/2" hose port for dockside pump-out without having to move the toilet. (The MSD fitting includes a 5/8" hose port for a tank vent.)"

You needed to specify #148 sanitation hose. Although the fuel vent hose may be the same thing.

Try googling Trident #148 sanitation hose.

Be sure to specify size.

Don't use cheap hardware store vinyl hose. It vents well and absorbs and reemits odor quite efficiently. I was in a jam and needed to replace the vent hose. The only sanitation hose was way over priced at the local branch of a national marine store, so I opted for the cheap stuff as a temporary measure, it was very temporary. :)

Thanks everyone! It looks like the most economical route for this will be to acquire it locally since I only need a few feet
