Vent Hose Replacement

I'm replacing all the hoses (they have the not-so-sweet permeated smell) and the head (it's 5 yrs. old and I pump a few little critters every time I wet flush) on by boat next weekend. I'll be using the Sealand Odorsafe hose for the head discharge line and the holding tank-to-pumpout deck plate hose. My questions are these: Is the Series 148 vinyl hose at West Marine or BoatUS ok to use for the holding tank vent hose (3/4 in.)? Is the same hose also ok for the raw water inlet hose for the head? Is there something better I should use? Thanks in advance, Peggy, and to any and all responders. Ed

Shields #148 is exactly what you should use

Before you start this project, you might want to read the articles on installing a head and holding tank and replacing hoses in the HM forum reference library...some tips in both that make the job a little easier.

Thanks, Peggy

Peggy, If there is anything I'm known for it's doing my homework (I'm a univ. professor), and my wife and others make fun of my incessant preparation and reading before tackling any job. So, I have read more than once and printed all the articles that you have prepared at your site for replacing heads and hoses, eliminating odors, and so on. I've done several Google searches on this topic, too. Believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to this challenging job. Many thanks again, Ed
