My wife suprised me for my 60th yesterday with a fishing trip to Venice on the 27th
While we are there any good places to buy boat parts?
Used to be a consignment shop from there all the time on E-bay but can't remember the name
Seems like there should be lots around New Orleans

Venice is pretty much the end of the world, going south on the west bank of the Mississippi. There isn't a whole lot there besides offshore oil field support and some charter fishing. Sure you're not thinking of Venice, FL?

I've fished in that area for years. If you've ever heard anyone say the water was red because there were so many redfish in the water, I've witnessed it in Venice (at the jetties near Pilot Town). Every cast was a redfish even with a bare hook. The only problem was they were nearly all longer than 27" and the limit per person that size is one. Every now and then we would catch one under 27" that we could keep (limit 5 per person under 27").
We have limited on specs plenty of times (25 per person). We have also limited on red snappers within the sight of land.
I would suggest hiring a guide as they know where to go and when to go.
Deep water for tuna, cobia, etc is a short boat ride from the jetties at some of the platforms in the area.

CY, why not book a trip to Venice Italy. Then you can tell the Missus you must have misunderstood her?

The admiral is the one that discovered and booked the trip likes to fish as much as I
daughter was in the other venice a couple years ago and wasn't impressed
