In building new bulkheads, I somehow misplaced "the device" that holds my cabin door open against the bulkhead. I've tried searching for where to get another, but without knowing the name, I've had no luck. It's plastic, circular, 3/4 diameter, brown, and acts like velcro.

Anybody able to help?

What you could do is mount a stainless steel "turn button" on a small Teak block like I did for my detachable hinged bull horn swing out bracket.

Thanks Joe for the idea; I'll have to look at those next time I'm at the hardware store (unfortunately nearest sail shop is 1.5 hours :-( )

You can find those in the hardware store I think, but not in stainless steel. You may need to go on line to get it.

Actually the Oday product is more like a plastic button with male like fingers that mate with the same type on the opposite side....its similar to the hook & loop but equal or better.....every item I found was sticky back, need a product that screws on

After an extensive search I figured out the minimum you can buy is in the +50.00 range but it just dawned on me that the EZPass toll gizmo's on my windshields are held with this high tech dual lock product and if you call or email they will send new ones FREE!

Guys,
That's an amazing product! When I was a lineman we used many 3-M products which not only included various tapes, but overhead and underground high voltage stress relief kits for our cables. 3-M definitely has lead the way to a vast amount of products besides caulking. If you are able to find out anything more about who carries this product, please let me know.
Joe

there have been a couple of items mentioned, but I think they re for power tool backers- hook and loop for sanding pads. This looks a lot like the OEM buttons on Odays, but still has a very stiff velcro type of texture, not the stiff fingers the originals oday boatds had.

The descriptions I read from 3M mentioned that Dual Lock are mushroom stem shapes. It's hard to tell from a picture whether they are the exact OEM parts, but after looking I don't think you'll get closer.

Purchased Wednesday night, received in the mail on Saturday, and installed on Sunday. It mated perfectly with the OEM part, and the sticky backside meant no screw into the wood. Perfect.
