vehicle towing

I pulled a Bayliner 24 with a 150 Ford with a 302. The transmission was the concern. It was an automatic made for towing. The 351 (Winsor, cleveland or the Boss) all are strong enough to pull a 25 foot swing keel Catalina....Just check your tranny!!!

Towing a C25

Absolutely! If you're going to do any towing in mountains, however, you may want to add an oil cooler.

Be ready to stop!!!

The brakes on the f150 may not be enough to stop your rig once you get going. If the trailer doesn't have surge brakes you might find that your pickup brakes will fade rather quickly, so watch out and give yourself plenty of stopping room. You will likely need four times the stopping distance with the boat as without.

Good advice

I have a Cat 25 I tow every summer, 500 miles round trip. I now have an older Ford 250 with a 460, but for years I towed her fine with a Dodge 3/4 ton with a 318. The last time I brought her back I only had 7 cylinders, but no prob. The advice you got about your (and the trailer's brakes) and the tranny comments are excellent. The engine is no biggie....
