Vega "Gemini Dream" and "Wee Happy" both in Marathon FL.

Hi everyone,

This is s.v. Wee Happy. We cruised down the coast from Lake Champlain (Vermont/New York) to Florida this fall, and are currently in Marathon, Florida, just east of Key West for the next few weeks.

The other day we went out for a day sail down to a sweet little beach called Bahia Honda. On our way out the west channel from the harbor, we passed a lovely vega on her anchor, and we went for a closer look.

No one was aboard, but I thought I'd try the vega group to see if the skipper is here. The vega is "Gemini Dream" and has a beautiful polished and gleaming white hull with blue stripe. She has an outboard 9.9 and a large grill on the stern pulpit underneath a large blue bimini with two large solar panels on top. The deck is the stock ivory/off white color still.

We'd like to make contact with the skipper, as we've only seen one other vega in over 1,600 miles. That one was in Annapolis.

Currently we are enjoying staying in Marathon, although we are considering going closer to Key West in the next week or two. It seems a much more fun place to be, and it's got more work opportunities.

Then come March or April we think that we'll be crossing the gulf stream to explore the Bahamas. That would be our first true passage aboard Wee Happy. From there the Carribbean would be open to us, although we'd have to plan for hurricaine season somewhere, of course.

We've been blogging about our trip, so if anyone wants to check it out, it's simply: weehappy.com

Thanks everyone!
Kristopher

Wee Happy,

Gemini Dreams here! I have only owned the Vega for a few months and recently left Indiantown. I see Tim from the board has already posted a link to my blog, which by the way, includes a link to your blog. lol I would love to meet! I have been up the mast 6 times this week installing a new mast light (not complete) and a Bad Boy Xtreme WIFI complete. As you may have seen from the cockpit I am repairing and replacing in paradise. I will be a Boot Key for another 7-10 days and then I am heading up the gulf coast. My original plan was to have the option of the Bahamas too but family in PCB need me before May.

Let's set up a meet.

Hi, All:

I have a nylon mast ladder and a bosn's chair for sale.

The mast ladder is made of nylon strap with steps and is raised with the main halyard. Although I had it onboard my Vega, I never had occasion to use it.

The bosn's chair is quite sturdy and serviceable.

Besides these items, I also have a rocker-arm assembly for a MD6-A, and a water pump for same.

All prices are negotiable. I've sold items here from my old Vega's (I've owned two), and nobody's yet been disappointed.

If interested, please contact me at saylered@... ... We can go from there....

Thanks,

...........Ed Davis............
