Vega in Antarctica

Hi Vega-sailors,

Today we bought the 'Segelmagazin Yacht' (the German sailors magazine) nr.
4 of february 14, 2001.
We were amazed about the story of the Norwegian Jarle
Andhoy who sailed with his Vega 'Berserk' to Cape
Horn, from there to Antarctica and back to Ushuaia. It is an amazing story and
the foto's are beautifull!!!
Jarle refeated his Vega since his
sixteenth. On the age of twenty (last year?) he started his yourney to Cape
Horn and Antarctica.

Does anybody know something about him? Where is he now? Does he need any
support from the worldwide Vega-sailors? Is he already home in Norway? Does he
know that there are about 3.500 Vega-sailors around the world? Does he know what
his performance means to the acceptation of our old lady 'Vega'! ?

Thank you, Yvonne, for the info about the article about Jarle Andhoy. I
got to the web site for yacht.de but couldn't find the article. Could
you be so kind as to give me a little direction.

Hi Dru,
We could not find the article on the website either. Maybe you can
send this magazine an
e-mail. I should not know another solution.

Ciao,
Yvonne.

Greetings Yvonne and Hartmut:

Many thanks for the information/update on Jarle
Andhoy and his incredible passage from Ushuaia to Palmer Peninsula and return.
Up to now, I only knew about Andhoy's Cape Horn triumph via his short
article last year in the British sailing magazine "Practical Boat Owner" (June
2000 issue?). The response you received from Walther Nerving was most
informative. Now the task is to locate a copy of the Discovery video production
and, of course, a copy of "Segelmagazin Yacht" for 14 February 2001!! Best
wishes from Atlantic Canada.
