Vega Club Subscriptions

Hi All

I have just voted on the AVA Poll and glad to see that most agree that a
small membership fee is applicable. I have run the UK Website for over five
years now and been editor of the UK Newsletter for nearly 7 years!

It takes a lot of effort, time and a little money to maintain the website
and compile, print and dispatch the Newsletters. With the coming of the
electronic age it has made the distribution of the newsletter much easier
via email (PDF format). Not all members are on teh internet and this means I
still have to print and post (by hand) over 150 Newsletters. The small fee
that the UK and USA Clubs charge does not cover the costs of all this
effort. I enjoy the job so I am not complaining but just asking for a little
understanding on why there is this small annual charge. Costs include:

Paper, Printing, postage stamps, Internet costs etc.

In the UK our subscription charges are £12 per annum and £18 for overseas
members (this is reduced to £12 if you can accept Newsletters by email). We
also charge a £10 joining fee. All in all I consider this a small price to
pay for the wealth of information and help that is available.

I hope I have not upset anyone with my outpouring!

Kind Regards to all Vega Sailors the world over
