1. Shaft alignment
2. Rudder alignment
3. If outboard, motor is not on centerline
4. If outboard is on aft quarter, motor is turned slightly
5. It could be designed that way
Typical prop walk I would think.
If you are in reverse, prop walk takes the stern to port. In forward, the prop at low speed will take the stern to starboard (hence the bow to port) until you get good water flow over the rudder.
