removehtml]I own a 1991 Hunter 433 Mooring sailboat. I replaced the frigibot freezer/refrigerator compressor and evaporator with a Adler/Barbour C-200 and VD-160 Powerplate. I also added about 2" of DOW Blue Board insulation. It STILL does not freeze in the freezer. Keeps the entire freezer/refrigerator area (pretty large with about 3+ freezer and about 5+ cu ft refrigerator area in total)nice and cool but cannot drive the freezer area down to freeze water in bottles. I also replaced the top seals. Still no difference. The Powerplate has to be mounted vertically instead of horizontally due to space restrictions so I know that causes some degradation of cooling to occur. What I want to know is if in your estimation that it would be wiser to scrap the Powerplate and go with a vertically mounted VD-152 mounted in the bottom of the box. The cooling capacity of that evaporator is almost the same as what the frigibot had - about 42X12. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
