VC17 vs Silver Bullet

Has any one tried using Silver Bullet over VC17? Sea Hawk says it can be put right over VC17, really? Is it compatible or will it peel off? I've tried other products over VC and it peeled off even though the mfg. said it would stick.
The price of VC here last season was $64 per qt. and buying 5 cans adds up. Money spent on VC means less spent on rum, the kitty is only so big. Silver Bullet costs less; but if the results are not as good as VC what's the point.
I race strictly on the Great Lakes in FRESH water BTW

The tech sheet says to sand a VC17 bottom to 'remove as much paint as possible' that's not the same at all as vc17 over vc17, where you just paint, no sanding at all required.

I've removed VC before using Xylene or Acetone with paper towels. No sanding required and no dust. I seemed to remember Sea Hawk saying Silver Bullet was compatible with VC.
Opinions???
