VC 17m vs. FW 21

Can anyone compare and contrast these two bottom paints? I currently use VC 17m, but I saw an advertisement for this other bottom paint. Anyone know anything about it? It seems to be a head-to-head competitor, but I want to be sure.

It is. West Marine marketed it as such. The formulations looked very similar. No one at our club was willing to give it a try in the fear that they might end up off the pace. I heard WM is giving up and discontinuing it; it's probably on sale big-time.

Thanks. I got a flyer from WM that indicated it was on sale for $42/quart, but I had never seen it before. Just wondering if it can be applied directly over VC 17. However...I don't want to be penny-wise but pound-foolish, and end up with a mess that I need to strip later. :naughty:
