I want to install vang. Any help as to type of attachment to the mast would be appreciated.
I know many want the new vangs...w/o visible blocks, etc....we still have the old fashioned vang...but use it all the time...
connects on bottom of boom (272)..where bails exist for attaching...then heads toward mast base at a 45 degree angle.....where a harken block and cleat exist to close it off after adjusting....simple cheap, works very well
I've thought about reversing the control block but if you adjust it, you need to be able to get good leverage....I could also by-pass the Harken block and just go w/a harken turning block, run the control line thru the turning block then send it back to the cockpit....whe it theoretically could be adjusted w/the winch .....I have not done all that..my wife is tired of the vang..but I love it.....Patrick in Wichita
