It is rare . . .

when magnetic mooring fields shift. Some contribute the happening to positive dock static attractions of free food and drink.

interesting

I see a market for stack-rack parking system. I see a market where a kid with a dingy could pick you up, and drop you off, for a small fee. I see more inflatables than rigids. I see if I had any boat, I'd buy five cans of paint - all different colors, and use them all on my boat. It would make it easier to find my boat. I see oars on some of them, but not all of them. I see very few PFD's. I see very few extra lines of any sort. I see very few spotlights for finding a boat at night. Lastly, one boat has an empty beer can on it...can you find it?

Been there, done that!

We've been there for that kind of "parking." I was surprised to recognize the person in the middle of the photo (the second one) who is wearing shorts and a red shirt. He's from our dock at Channel Islands Harbor and was there in August. Didn't expect to see him in the post, but there he is. Nice photograph. Regards, Gary Kunkel

Been There,

… and done that so many times I sometimes think I can walk on water. I've had to walk through/climb over three other people's dinks, with extra-long painter in one hand and daypack in t'other, to get to that dock in the summer. When it's not as thick, nosing inflatables out of the way w/ mine, or having my crewman push them aside, to get to the dock, can be a pleasant game (still leave a long run of painter so others can bump your dink outta the way while you're ashore) :)
