I always wear mine. I’m normally the only one onboard who knows how to operate the boat. I figure it’ll give me a little extra time if I do go over. Or at least make it easier for DNR to find my body. And she won’t wear hers. And she thinks I’m rude if I ask others to wear one.

Sometimes we argue about silly things like buttering the bread for a BLT sandwich and need our friends to intervene. Beneteau 473 moored in Trellis Bay, Tortola, BVI.

But we’ve always made up. My Fox and I at Foxy’s in Jost Van Dyke.

We do lots together and travel a bit.



And even get opportunities to help some friends with there new to them sailboats. West Wight Potter 19 on a windless day, launching near Lincoln Beach in Belfast, ME.

But at the end of every day I love my Valentine, and she loves me. I can tell just from the gift she gets me each year. She knows my likes, my dislikes, and can anticipate any reaction I have to the failures and successes of life. This year I got this...again! YUM!!!

My girl doesn't like cut flowers. They die too soon. So this morning, I texted her this picture from our yard. (yeah, no snow.) With "Happy Valentine's Day"

She loved it. And I didn't kill a plant.

Way too cold here to have the boat in the water now, but we did make a trip to Maui for some warm R&R.
