Guys let me start by bragging. I have the best wife in the world! I was feverishly trying to make Valentines dinner reservations last week, getting shot down at every turn. Resturants were all booked!! My wife says I have an idea...How about if I make an awesome dinner, take it down to the boat to eat and watch the sun go down. I was speechless. Then if that wasn't enough she goes on to say..."That way we can be back in time to watch the America's Cup at 7 PM"!! I sware I ain't making this up. Come on guys.. try and top that. Ted PS: No she doesnt have a sister.

My wife..

..turned down my invitation to participate in a local sailing clubs "sweetheart's regatta", only one guy and one girl on the boat. Sensing my disappointment, she suggested I ask my 12 year old daughter. So daughter and I are heading down to the club this weekend for a dinner/dance and to participate in our first race together. Should be a hoot!

But does she do Teak?

My wife sanded and varnished every piece of wood on board during the rebuild of not one , but two boats! Our beloved O'25, and our just getting aquainted with O'28. For Valentine's weekend, she's decided to touch up the toe rails, and she can cook. A lucky guy and I know it.

Better yet...

My wife said she didn't want to go to the boat show, since she already knew what boat she wanted. We just bought a new 356, and it's Judy's boat, but she lets me play on it...

Can't top this

Years ago we had a C22. After 2 years my wife said we need a bigger boat. OK by me so we got a G26. Three years later we went to a boat show and while we were looking at a G30 she started to dicker about about the price. What a surprise to me. So now we are the proud owners of a 30' sailboat. Three years later we sell the boat and retire to Florida. I figure my sailing is over. Siting on the beach and seeing the white sails on the horizon she suggests we buy a sailboat and live aboard and for me what was there to debate. So we had a P32 double ender built and commisioned in St Pete and lived aboard for 4 happy years. Made a couple trips to the Bahamas. Happy Valentines Day Shirley.

Nope. Can't top that.

Even though my wife actually owns the boat and the previous one and has hand-sewn all the canvas onboard and goes with me to the boat when the temperature is in the teens and the boat is locked in ice and spends weeks at a time onboard as we cruise, she has so far resisted my attempts to sell all that we own and move aboard. Some guys have all the luck

Well, MY wife...

..varnished, made cushions, covers and shades, helped rebuild and fiberglass a transom, bought new sails, pushed me into our first and second Hunter, got me a wash-down service, decorated the boats, got me into a yacht club encouraged me to race, cleans up after messy race crew, helps prep and clean up, spells me on the helm, cooks and stocks the boat and is great company. This despite being seasick for 23 years.... And, she's really great looking with a great personality. Only problem is keeping healthy. That's me, I mean. I think there's a few guys waiting for me to pass on. Rick D.
