Peggy: I just bought a 460 with 2 Vacuflush heads. I want to install a Y valve for direct discharge for offshore use. The dealer claims that the vacuflush heads do not use enough water to flush waste up and over any kind of loop. Is this true? Do you have, or can you recomend a place where I can get a diagram and/or drawings to show the proper installation of Y valves for these heads? Thanks Mark Johnson S/V Anthem

That's ridiculous!

If it were true, there wouldn't be a single VacuFlush on any oceangoing vessel. It's not water that flushes a Vacuflush...it's accumulated vacuum, and then pump--which not only re-establishes vacuum in the system, but is what moves the bowl contents past the pump to its ultimate destination--overboard, to a treatment device, or into a tank. That pump will lift up to 6 feet! Your dealer obviously needs training on the VacuFlush!
